Vinodromo . Milan

Do go along to have an aperitivo in this wine bar if you're in Milan
over the next few weeks, you can see my wine collages
and the food is great too!
It's open until the middle of August.
Fate un salto a prendere l'aperitivo in questa enoteca se siete
a Milano nelle prossime settimane, potete vedere i miei collages
con le etichette e si mangia bene!
Rimane aperta fino a metà agosto.

Delights of a lifetime! Delizie di una vita!

It was both fascinating and moving hearing the story of this group of friends and then illustrating it for a 60th birthday present - thank you so much for asking me! The finished piece is this sumptuous table, one of the advantages of age is having such a great story to tell.

Christmas 2015/Natale 2015

Back in the studio today, where for some reason there's no
heating and the temperature is that of a woodland glade!
Like being in this piece I did for La Repubblica a few days ago!
Tornata in studio oggi dove, per qualche motivo, non c'è
riscaldamento e c'è una temperatura da bosco! Come essere
dentro questo disegno realizzato qualche giorno fa
per La Repubblica!

Gardens de-constructed at Villa Pavesi Negri

A one day exhibition near Pontremoli in what looks like
a rather wonderful villa.
These are the collages I did for Cristiana Serra Zanetti's
garden proposals in Gardenia magazine.
They're quite fun because they mix flowers and vegetables
in a way that's reminiscent of that most wonderful French
garden, Villandry. I remember falling in love with idea when
I visited there a few years ago, driving through France on
my way to London.

Help I'm lost - Tapirulan exhibition in the Violin Museum, Cremona

"Aiuto mi sono perso" in Italian is worth a visit; it's an exhibition about the
province of Cremona featuring the work of 52 illustrators.
It's on until 18 May, open every day 10.00am - 6.00 pm. Organised by the
Tapirulan Association www.tapirulan.it, it's accompanied by a catalogue
which is also a guide to the province of Cremona, and an extra bonus is
that the exhibition is in the Violin Museum in Cremona http://www.museodelviolino.org/.
If you can organise to see a concert in the recently opened Auditorium, even better.
A circular stage and curvy shapes have been built into the existing rationalist building
by the architects Arkpabi and the accoustics are meant to be fantastic!
This is my map of the Province, some incredible names here, but not much
help for getting around, so as the organisers say: "Bring a compass or a navigator"

Yesterday's Repubblica - Niko Romito at Reale, Italian star

Repubblica has been restyled and I did this illustration
for the first Saturday issue. The 8 Italian chefs with
3 Michelin stars sit down to cook and eat together.
Congratulations to the latest addition to the list, Niko Romito
at Ristorante Reale in Abruzzo, an area that's definitely worth
visiting for a variety of reasons. By coincidence this area is also
the subject of this week's food map, now moving to Wednesday's
"Viaggi" insert after the restyling.

Life in the country_drawing it, not living it

La Repubblica today, amongst other jobs and
preparations for the Luxembourg exhibition.
Two weeks since I left the studio, never
mind the city! Still it's fantastic to have the work
and I'm booked in for a break next
weekend at Sunkyung Cho's workshop,
organised by Debbie Bibo at Signs and Lines.
It's about story telling... who knows...
I'm still feeling good after Chris Haughton's
at the end of last year!

Mess in the kitchen!

Embarking on new work is always
a difficult business, both exciting and scary,
so I'm starting from these images.
I have an exhibition planned in Luxemburg
at the end of February. More details soon...

Oh, and here's the " O L D " one

Though really not that old at all. I made it for the Tapirulan
calendar competition, in its 8th year. Tapirulan is an
association based in Piadena that promotes contemporary art.
There's more about it here:http://www.tapirulan.it and you
can view, and comment on the pieces competing
here: http://www.tapirulan.it/concorso-calendario/379/433

My N E W Buffet

Last weekend I went to a workshop by Chris Haughton
at Import Books in Milan. What a fantastic selection
of books they have there! It was organised by
Debbie Bibo at Signs&Lines. Such an enjoyable
experience, and here's what I produced. I think it
may well be the first in a series...

Hot chestnuts, Bric à brac, and my pictures

For anyone who happens to be in Lunigiana
this Sunday, 28th October, this should be fun.
The place is Filetto di Villafranca.
